How to have the perfect morning.

What makes the perfect morning? Here at Koala HQ, we’ve been comparing our morning routines and seeing who has absolutely aced their routine. We’ve finally concocted the perfect morning recipe for success, and we wanted to share our top tips with you.

 

Go to bed early and get up early

Ever heard the saying, “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man health, wealthy and wise?” Getting 9 hours of sleep is optimal, and you’ll really get the most out of your day by waking up earlier. The natural sunlight will wake you up, and you’ll be surprised at how much you can get done between 6-7am (or earlier!) than before. It’s quiet, not many other people are awake so social media won’t be a distraction and the air always seems to give off an inspirational scent at this time.

 

 Exercise

Let’s face it, after a long, tiresome day at work there is no WAY you can even think about hitting the gym or going for a run. By getting up a little earlier and making time in your morning routine for exercise, you’ll feel happier & healthier all day and start the day off on a good note. Sure, it can be hard getting up earlier, but it’s even harder trying to do exercise AFTER work. The release of endorphins will have you smiling all day long.

 

Prepare your belongings the day before

Ever had one of those awful mornings where you go to get dressed and realise ALL of your clothes are in the wash? Where you then go on a rampage destroying your wardrobe, until you’re left with last week’s dirty brown t-shirt? There’s nothing worse than panicking over clothing or belongings in the morning, so make sure you’re prepared the night before. Choose your outfit and have it laid out all ready to go. Pack you gym bag, make your lunch and go to bed knowing you’re ready to tackle the day the next morning.

 

Make your bed

You’ve probably heard your mum say it a million times, but sadly… we agree. MAKE YO’ BED PEOPLE. Not only will you be relieved coming to a clean bedroom after you finish your day, but studies have also shown that people that make their bed in the morning are more productive throughout the day. It takes 1 minute to quickly make your bed, but will provide a whole day of getting your to-do list ticked off. #WINNING

 

Choose Happiness

The saying, "You've woken up on the wrong side of the bed," isn't true when it comes to sleeping on a Koala mattress (how could it be?! Blissful sleep every single night.) but on others, it's definitely a possibility. If you haven't made the switch yet and you really are waking up on the wrong side of the bed, choose happiness. It sounds easy because it IS easy - think about all the wonderful things that are happening in your life. Here's some examples... you're alive, you're loved, you have friends, the earth hasn't exploded yet. By focusing on the good and greeting the day with a smile, you'll truly set yourself up for the perfect morning.
